Format and Rules for Tournament

Format:
The Invitational is a Captain’s Choice Scramble event. Each player hits a tee shot and the best shot is then selected. All players then hit from the selected spot. The process is repeated until the ball is holed out. The maximum score per hole is a bogey.

Rules: USGA rules will apply. The ball may be moved one club length, except in hazards or on the green. Once a drive is chosen, the selected ball may be cleaned and placed, except in hazards. A ball in hazard must be placed as it lies and following balls must be dropped in the hazard.

Prizes and Awards: Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each flight. Total team handicaps will be used to determine flights. Prizes also will be awarded for long drive, closest-to-the-pin and hole-in-one.

Special Features: Par-3’s will feature big-ticket prizes for holes in one.

Ties: A scorecard playoff will determine winners. The tie-breaking method is as follows:

  • Best score for holes 9-18. If no winner, then,
  • Best score for holes 12-18. If no winner then,
  • Best score for holes 15-18. If no winner then,
  • Best score for the 18th hole. If a tie still exists, the committee will match scorecards, hole by hole, beginning with #17, until a winner is determined.
  • If no winner then, a coin toss will be held.

Note: The tournament committee may alter the rules at any time as deemed necessary. The decision of the rules committee is final.
